After Radiologist Dr. Jon M. Robins caught the wheel of his bike on a dangerous trench and fell, he suffered a shattered clavicle and 13 rib fractures. The cause of the accident was a deep and nearly invisible trench in a portion of San Diego’s Northpoint Drive bicycle lane–the thin tires of Robins’ bike were simply no match for the jagged road.
After learning this treacherous stretch of bike lane had caused serious injury to at least one other cyclist, Robins’ wife, Stephanie, did everything she could to improve conditions for the city’s cyclists.
