Headphones And Road Cyclists: A Tragic Combination

A young cyclist, recently identified as Santiago Piovillasenor Aganza, was struck and killed by a Sprinter train in Oceanside last December. The train operator said that the young man, who crossed into the path of the oncoming train, acted like he didn’t see the train at all. While this doesn’t make much sense at first, investigators believe he was wearing headphones at the time of the accident.
