Professional triathlete Jordan Rapp was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a car on Tuesday, March 23. Officers involved in the investigation say that it was likely a commuting farm worker turned left into oncoming traffic–and in front of Rapp–at the intersection of Lewis and Old Lewis road in Oxnard, California.
Rapp is said to have lost 2-3 units of blood and suffered numerous broken bones, contusions, and lacerations from the accident. He remains sedated, on a ventilator, and in the ICU according to his wife Jill Sevege.
As of right now the motorist hasn’t been found. The vehicle involved in the accident will probably have a broken driver’s side window, and potential body damage to the left side.
