Day 3 found the riders braving brutally scorching temperatures in Arizona. Although the wind was largely favorable, the problems of endurance cycling started to raise their ugly heads…and you know what that means: fatigue, nausea, digestive problems. Day 4 found riders out of favor with the wind and still battling scorching temperatures. While some of the leaders got going on the merciless climb of the Colorado Rockies, many stayed to rest in Durango anticipating the fatigue that sets in during uphill riding.
The finish-line of the “Race Across the West” is almost in sight!

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for all the action this year’s race is going to bring. From teams made up of over-60 men and women, to a team of diabetics, to brave bicycling individuals from all over the world, this years RAAM promises to be awesome!
